As many have observed, the Central Bank of Kenya (CBK) released a statement on 19th September 2022 on the deadline for digital lending licence applications in the country.
While Tala was not named directly, we want to reassure all Tala customers that we submitted our application for the requisite licence in advance of the CBK’s deadline of 17th September 2022. We are currently engaging with the CBK as we wait for our application to be reviewed.
